FY 24 Budget & Tax Rate Approved
ADOPTION OF FY2023-2024 BUDGET
The City of Navasota held a budget workshop on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Operating Budget for the City of Navasota on August 14, 2023, at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 200 East McAlpine at 4:30P.M.
A public hearing was held by the City of Navasota on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Operating Budget for the City of Navasota on September 11, 2023, at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 200 East McAlpine at 6:00 P.M. At this time the first reading of the above-mentioned budget was approved by the City Council.
Mayor Pro Tem Gessner made the motion and Council Member Fultz seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

The City of Navasota held a second reading of the proposed Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Operating Budget on September 25, 2023, at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 200 East McAlpine at 6:00 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tem Gessner made the motion and Council Member Fultz seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Ordinance 1029-23 was adopted at this time. This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $268,455, which is an 8.08 percent increase from last year's budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $185,871.
A copy of the entire budget proposal for adoption is available for inspection at the links below, as well as the City Secretary’s office located at 200 East McAlpine between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M., Monday through Friday.

A public hearing was held by the City of Navasota on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Property Tax Rate for the City of Navasota on September 11, 2023, at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 200 East McAlpine at 6:00 P.M. At this time the first reading of the above-mentioned tax rate was approved by the City Council.

Ordinance 1030-23 was adopted at this time. The property tax rate was increased by the adoption of a tax rate of $0.5221, which is effectively a 2.67 percent increase in the tax rate.
