NEDC Board Members

Mike Harris - President

Mike is a Navasota native and the third generation of his family to live in Grimes County. He and his wife Kay, also a Navasota native, are graduates of Navasota High School and Texas A&M University. Kay has been a teacher at John C. Webb Elementary School for 33 years. Mike was Vice President/Cashier of Security State Bank-Navasota from 1975-1980; Vice President of Glenn Fuqua, Inc.-Construction from 1980-1982; a Charter Director and Chairman/President of The Bank of Navasota Branch until April 2008; and is presently a Senior Vice President and lender with the First National Bank of Anderson-Navasota Branch.

Johnny McNally - Vice President

Johnny is currently Executive Director of the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to this, he was a Chamber board member and worked as Marketing Manager at ErgoGenesis, manufacturer of BodyBilt Ergonomic Chairs. A resident of Navasota since 2005, Johnny is very active in the community. He has lent effort and support to numerous organizations in the area, and has served on boards including the Christian Community Services Center, the Navasota Noon Lions Club and the Grimes County Crime Stoppers.

Johnny was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Houston, TX. His previous professional experience includes work at law firms in New York City and Los Angeles.

William A. Bert Miller, III

Bert is a product of Navasota High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University and Blinn College. Also a Professional Development graduate of University of Dallas. He is President of Miller Insurance Agency and has been with the agency since 1997, and prior to this position he worked as a sales representative with Trinity Industries for 8 years. He also owns Classic Rock Coffee Co. & Kitchen, which opened downtown in October 2016. He is proud of his family heritage as his grandfather, Albert Miller was instrumental in establishing the industrial park in the 1970’s and Bill Miller, his father, continued the effort, driving new business and expanding industry in the Navasota area. Bert attained “Certified Municipal Official” status through the Texas Municipal League Institute in 2016 and has served as mayor since 2006. His experience comes from his overwhelming positive attitude and desire to make Navasota a great place to live, work and play.

Ruby Stevens-Morgan

Ruby is a native of Roanoke, Alabama who moved to Lexington, Kentucky after receiving her B.S. degree in Business Education from Auburn University. In Kentucky, she was a high school business teacher, a statewide consultant with the KY Department of Education, and actively involved in her church and the community. She earned a M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Kentucky. A resident of Navasota since January 2011, Ruby is the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Prairie View A&M University. She is established in our community as the founder/executive director of Achievers by Choice, a community 501c3 nonprofit organization for disadvantaged youth; an entrepreneur as owner of Tutor Doctor, a one-to-one in-home tutoring franchise; founder of nSPIRE Education Consultants; and the co-chair of Grimes County Rural Leadership.

Kathleen Terrell

Kathleen is an attorney whose practice is limited to real estate, estate planning and probate. She is a life-long resident of Navasota and a graduate of Texas Christian University and South Texas College of Law. Ms. Terrell has practiced law in Navasota since 1989. She has served as president of the Grimes County Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Washington of the Brazos Park Association, President of the Grimes County Bar Association, and founding member of the Texas Bluebonnet Art Show. Ms. Terrell serves as title examiner and personally attends and supervises most real estate closings held at Guaranty Title Company of Grimes County. Representative clients include The First National Bank of Anderson, The Bank of Navasota, N. A. and First State Bank of Bedias.
