The City of Navasota is currently accepting applications for the following full-time positions.

Current Openings


Under minimal supervision, performs planning, complex, professional duties and supervisory work in the direction of municipal pool and pool staff, and recreation programs. Work involves developing and implementing parks and recreation programs for the entire City within budgetary limitations, including the management and control of all properties assigned to the Department. Employee is responsible for supervising technical staff, and volunteers; working with the Facilities Manager to ensure the maintenance of recreational facilities; and assist in administering the departmental budget and grant funds as directed. Employee must exercise initiative and independent judgment when determining the scope of programs to be offered through the department, and in all other phases of the work.


Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of complex, responsible, and confidential administrative responsibilities in direct support of the City Manager and other executive management staff. Maintains records and training information on all city boards/committees.  Promotes a positive relationship with all City departments and employees.  Writes some grants and works with grant consultants and staff on managing grants.

TCOLE Certified Police Officers

Must be certified through TCOLE or if not certified must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED.  

Communications Operators

Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED.  Shift work including nights, weekends and holidays.    

Certified Police Officers and Communications Operators:

A person cannot have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or higher.  Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass an extensive background.  If you have questions concerning qualification, you may contact Navasota Police Department 936-825-6124.
