The City of Navasota is currently accepting applications for the following full-time positions.

Current Openings

TCOLE Certified Police Officer

Protects the city's residents and property and enforces laws and ordinances. Duties include patrolling an assigned area, generally by vehicle, and responding to emergency calls and routine complaints, taking appropriate action. Must be certified through TCOLE, if not certified must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED. 

Certified Police Officer

A person cannot have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or higher.  Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass an extensive background check. If you have questions concerning qualification, you may contact Navasota Police Department at 936-825-6124.

Animal Control Officer

Protects residents from stray or vicious animals and related diseases, operates the animal control center, captures, impounds, and when necessary, disposes of animals and maintains records and prepares and submits reports.  High school diploma, or equivalent, appropriate driver license and ability to obtain Basic Animal Control Certification by Texas Department of Health.


Part time job that requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, or currently attending high school.  Under the supervision of the Pool Manager and/or Head Lifeguard enforce the safety regulations for the protection of pool patrons; make suggestions for new or updated regulations; assist in general maintenance of pool facilities, and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and /or Head Lifeguard.
