The City of Navasota is currently accepting applications for the following full-time positions.

Current Openings


TCOLE Certified Police Officers

Protects the city's residents and property and enforces laws and ordinances. Duties include patrolling an assigned area, generally by vehicle, and responding to emergency calls and routine complaints, taking appropriate action. Must be certified through TCOLE, if not certified must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED.

Communications Operator (Dispatcher)

Ensures smooth operation of day-to-day telecommunication functions for the police and fire departments. Shift work including nights, weekends and holidays.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The City of Navasota seeks a dynamic self-starter to coordinate marketing activities and event promotion. Degree and experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related area preferred. Ability to multi-task, interface with governmental, community and volunteer groups is essential. Experience with website management, basic photography, event sponsorship development, event vendor relations and social media highly desirable. Salary based on qualifications and experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or a related field preferred; and two (2) years or more of relevant experience marketing a business, preferably a tourist destination; Optimal experience would include extensive in a destination management leadership role at a Convention and Visitors Bureaus or other promotion agency or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. A valid Texas Class C Driver’s license required.

Library Clerk

Provides assistance to the Librarian in daily library operations. Duties include assisting patrons, cataloging and processing new books, and repairing damaged books.


Performs receptionist duties which include the answering of a multi-line phone system for the City of Navasota, directing calls, providing information, and/or taking messages as appropriate; greeting visitors that enter the Municipal Building; respond to citizen inquiries, being able to fill in as a Clerk in the Customer Service Department, clip newspaper clippings and articles related to City business, and performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.

Part Time Navasota Center Attendant

Assists and oversees during rental of The Navasota Center. Meet delivery, catering and other event personnel for setup of rental event; supervises activities during rental to assure that all building policies are followed. Cleans the facility and performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to work weekend and evening hours.
