The City of Navasota is currently accepting applications for the following full-time positions.

Current Openings

LIBRARIAN

Operates the city library efficiently and ensures daily library meets the needs of the community. Duties include providing assistance to patrons, promoting the library, and managing its operations, including acquisition, circulation, and reference functions.

BUILDING CUSTODIAN LABORER

Performs custodial cleaning work for municipal buildings. Operates a vacuum cleaner and hand cleaning apparatus; empties and cleans waste receptacles and properly disposes of trash; cleans restrooms, windows, doors, floors, water fountains, and furniture.  Position requires a High School Diploma, GED or Transcript and a valid Texas Driver’s License.

PARKS AND RECREATION LABORER

Performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to the care and maintenance of grounds at city parks, cemetery, baseball fields, or other facilities.  Position requires a High School Diploma, GED or Transcript and a valid Texas Driver’s License.

TCOLE Certified Police Officers

Must be certified through TCOLE or if not certified must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED.  

Communications Operators

Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or a GED.  Shift work including nights, weekends and holidays.    

Certified Police Officers and Communications Operators:

A person cannot have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or higher.  Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass an extensive background.  If you have questions concerning qualification, you may contact Navasota Police Department 936-825-6124.
