THINGS TO DO, SEE AND HEAR

Navasota is an historic small town featuring a quaint downtown filled with shops, antiques and restaurants. The history of the area and Texas are found in the museums in and around the city, including Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park, Star of the Republic Museum and the Horlock History Center. There are multiple recreational opportunities, campsites, city parks and golf courses.

During the 2005 Texas legislative session, Navasota was honored as the “Blues Capital” of Texas. The community earned this recognition due to its promotion of the legacy of legendary bluesman and Navasota native Mance Lipscomb. The annual Navasota Blues Festival is held in his honor and provides blues lovers from around the world with an opportunity to hear the best in this American form of music.
