The Navasota Public Library provides services for all Grimes County residents. The services provided include:

  • Four computers for Internet and word –processing
  • Reference assistance
  • Genealogical recourse room
  • Wide variety of popular books and magazines
  • Subscriptions to multiple newspapers
  • Audio books on tape and compact discs
  • Music on compact discs
  • Videocassettes
  • Inter-library loan of materials from other libraries
  • Large print books
  • Photo copier ($.20)
  • Community bulletin board
  • Children’s story hour
  • Children’s summer reading program
  • Adult literacy program

Library Information: You must present your library card when checking out items or getting on the Internet.

  • A replacement card will be made for a $2.00 fee.
  • Library patrons are responsible for items checked out on their card.
  • Any items returned after closing time on due dates are considered late.
  • All fines must be paid before more items can be checked out or getting on the Internet
  • Videos are limited to three per household on Mondays -Thursdays and four per household on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Videos are $1.50 per day per video if they are late and $.50 if not rewound.
  • Videos may not be rechecked.

Want to become a member of the Navasota Public Library?
  1. Must be five years old.
  2. Must live in Grimes County (if not there will be a $10.00 fee).
  3. Must have two references with telephone numbers.
  4. Must have a Texas Driver’s License to have an adult card.

  • Monday, 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to noon
