The Navasota Police Department is committed to community policing and has established several outreach programs to improve community relations. The department has established Treats on the Street and participates in National Night Out. The department also participates in the Shattered Dreams program every three years to teach high school students the dangers of drinking and driving.

The Navasota Police Department is comprised of dedicated professional officers who strive to maintain the highest level of training and expertise in dealing with the public.

The department has nineteen officers, seven civilian personnel and one animal control officer. The department is comprised of the following divisions:

Administration

Chief Shawn Myatt oversees all operations of the department.

Patrol / Investigations

Lt. is the supervisor over patrol, investigations, school resource officers, and the Animal Control officer. The patrol division is overseen by the patrol sergeant.

Communications

The Communications Division has been combined with the Grimes County Sheriffs Department to better serve the citizens of Navasota and Grimes County. Darcie Jones is the supervisor at the current time and is an employee with the Navasota Police Department.
