To Participate in the: 2018 SUMMER READING PROGRAM
June 1 – July 27
Any child can join the reading program or attend the Monday afternoon programs. There is no registration required for the Monday afternoon programs. You do not have to have a library card to participate in either.
After you have read/been read to, write the titles of the books on the lines provided on the log. There is room for 34 titles on front and 16 titles on back. You may ask for additional logs. We have separate logs for those who will record minutes, instead of titles. Those minute logs have room to record up to 750 minutes. Each circle on the log represents 15 minutes of reading time.
When you complete the first log, turn it in to the front desk and you will receive a certificate, a small prize and a book of your choice (while supplies last). For each additional log turned in, you will receive a small prize. After each log is turned in, your name will go on our children’s wall. We do encourage you to continue reading throughout the summer.
Required reading per log:
Birth – 6 years old: 16 books
7 – 12 years old: 34 books or 180 minutes
13 years and up: 375 minutes
At the end of the summer program, we will award prizes to the top reader in each age category listed below. We will also have a party to end our summer program which will include pizza.
We will accept reading logs until July 27.
