The Navasota Center
103 Stadium Drive
(936) 825-2241
Bringing together the history and future of the community, the Navasota Center provides a source for educational, recreational, and cultural programming to all area residents. "Bringing people together at the Center" is the theme of this facility and its grounds as it serves the youth, adults, and seniors of Navasota.
Through the years, the Navasota Center building has served as a wealth of opportunity for community unity and activity. In the early 1930's, this building was constructed as part of a Works Progress Administration and National Youth Association program. The original construction of the facility provided jobs for the citizens of this community who were suffering through the hard times of the Great Depressions years.
From this work project came a football stadium, a public swimming pool, and a gymnasium, which the school district would use as part of the high school’s facilities until the new high school was built. In the spring of 2000, the Navasota ISD donated the buildings and land as part of a community-wide effort to construct a community center for the citizens of Navasota. Many local businesses and individuals have contributed funds to make the Navasota Center a reality. Texas Parks and Wildlife also provided funding assistance on the restoration of this facility.
The mission of the Navasota Center is to provide a facility and opportunities for educational, recreational, and cultural programming by effectively pooling community resources in an effort to meet the diverse needs of our area. The facility consists of a computer lab, an arts and crafts room, three classrooms, a game room, an event room, and one banquet hall.
In addition to renting space to area residents for events, the
Navasota Center will also host a variety of activities including
adult continuing education courses, fitness classes, computer
classes, senior citizen programming, after school programs, as
well as other community events. If you have any questions about
the facility or are interested in renting space for your event,
please contact the Navasota Center at (936) 825-2241.
