Wastewater Operations

The Wastewater Division is responsible for collecting and treating wastewater and maintaining the operations of the system by maintaining and improving the wastewater system.

The Wastewater Department assures that the City's wastewater treatment is thorough and meets all required standards through careful management and operations. The Wastewater Department maintains and operates a 1.8 million gallon per day plant, with 7.5 million gallons peak flow-design discharging into Cedar Creek. Eleven lift-stations are monitored each day, sampling and testing is performed and facilities checked for normal operating conditions daily.

    The duties of the water operations staff include the following functions:
  • Repair and replace sewer (wastewater) mains
  • Repair sanitary sewer stoppages and overflows
  • Install sewer service taps
  • TV inspection services of sewer mains
  • Maintain City's wastewater collection system
  • Maintain City's sewer liftstations
  • Respond to customer requests
  • Monthly discharge monitoring samples
  • Utility line locates for construction or excavation
  • Comply with rules and regulations of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
