Animal Control
The Navasota Police Department operates the Navasota Animal Shelter, which is located at 1607 Nolan Street. The City�s animal control officer enforces the animal control ordinances and takes care of the animals placed in the animal shelter.

All animals kept within the city limits of Navasota are required to be registered. When registering your pets, you must provide proof of current rabies vaccination to the Animal Control Officer. For information in regards to registering your pet, call 936-825-6641.
All animals kept within the city limits of Navasota are required to have rabies vaccination and to be kept inside a fence or on a leash. The maximum number of animals of each residence cannot exceed four (4).
If you think the Animal Control officer has picked up your pet, you can call 936-825-6641 or call the Navasota Police Department at 936-825-6124 and ask for the Animal Control Officer. The Animal Control Officer will call you back as soon as possible.
In the event the Animal Control Officer has picked up your pet, you will need proof that the animal has been vaccinated before the pet is released to you.
Citizens can be issued citations for allowing their animals to run at large in the city. You can also be issued a citation in the event your animal causes a disturbance by barking at night and being a nuisance.
